Welcome to pages of sport club HORAL Welcome to web of sport club HORAL - ALTO Slovakia dedicated to our essential event: mountain bike marathon "HORAL". We are preparing this event in cooperation with town Svit and surrounding villages.  It was founded in year 2000 as a reaction to rising popularity of mountain bike endurance race events dedicated for both recreational and performance riders. As there was only few MTB marathons in Slovakia at that time and none in the east Slovakia or Tatra area, members of our club decided to fill this gap. Race is "open" - this means that both registered cyclists an also non-professionals - so-called hobby riders are free to enter the race. Mountain bike marathon HORAL is not for performance riders only. There are more trails and categories. Trails are chosen to fit performance level of every rider. Trail "HORAL KREJZI" (CRAZY) is the longest and most challenging. It is real extreme in eyes of non-bikers or recreational bikers. Characteristics was stunning: 1152 Km long and more than 3400m uphill. For most bikers was this marathon race the hardest in Slovakia. From 2009 it is 2-nd. stage of HORAL TOUR three day marathon. So from this time it is "only" 80 km long and mor then 2600m. uphil. But this is also one of most beautiful mountain bike marathon trials. Attraction of countryside, diversity and cyclo-technical severity of this trial is without exaggeration comparable to famous marathons in the Alps. The name "HORAL LEJZI (LAZY)" lies a bit. It is not for untrained nor for lazy cyclists. It is more than 61Km long and 1800m uphill. "HORAL SENZI" is actually something different. It is not real marathon, but something like "marathon preparation". With its 35 km and 1000m uphill is this trial suitable mostly for people who want to try mountain bike marathon atmosphere and their physical prepositions and condition does not allow them to try real marathon. The last in the list but not last in its importance is trial "HORAL DEJZI". It is designated for older pupils and family teams. In this case Family meant to be the team of one adult and a minimum of one child not older than 13 years. Length of technically not difficult trial (17km) allow "families" to be more active while waiting for their "marathoner". As a part of the event there are prepared contests for children, Slovak cup of bike trial and evening music concerts. On the behalf of organization team we invite 13th.-15th.
